BrisNET TYPE Field Explanation

The BrisNet TYPE field in the Race Header on the Charting Horse Value handicap report identifies the type of race being run today. For example:  maiden special weight, optional claiming, starter allowance, graded stakes, etc.  By summarizing this into a concise code, the TYPE field allows handicappers to compare races to assess risk and wagering confidence.

Here is an image that explain the various TYPE codes.  Combining the TYPE field with the CONF field to target races with confidence.  Knowing which races you prefer to gamble on and which races have data you can leverage can significantly improve your race analysis and betting decisions.

The CONF field is a score from 0-5 (higher is more confidence).  In the other graphic you see the handicap report for a race at DEL.  This is a claiming race with the Type C.  The CONF score is 3.1 out of 5.

Top choice #7 Morning Thoughts won this race!
