How to bet the race

I want to provide some general information about how to bet a race using this data. This data can be used effectively for exotic wagers (exactas, daily doubles), serial wagers (P4, P6), tournament selections and of course simple win, place, show. It is most effective on a race by race basis where you can compare the horse tote odds to PFDS odds & Best odds. The Value column is an estimate of how good a horse is to bet on based on the morning line only.

A simple way to select a horse would be to choose a horse that got an ABC letter grade and is expected to return a profit based on the odds of the horse.  Without inside information, every horse as a chance at winning the race.  The PFDS odds and Best odds tells you when a horse becomes profitable on average.
